Cairns

I arrived at my last stop of my east coast travel. Relaxing at the pool and party was mainly my activities at the first day, because I met Levin again.

We went to a pub crawl at the evening, was a lot of fun and different locations. If you were in or going to Cairns you definitely know Gilligan's, a crazy party Hostel. It is the place to go at the end of the night, as we did ;)

Next day I met some guys from Facebook to drive to the rainforest. At the beginning a little bit wirred to travel with people you not known before, but it gets better ;) We saw Jum Rum Creek, it is a place to relax and enjoy nature not so spectacular.

Next stop was the Barron Falls, they are amazing!

We saw some people on the left side of the Falls. We also wanted to go there it looks so nice and relaxed. But it was actually not easy to go there. First we had no idea how to get there, but we met two guys from Egypt and we found out we had to go on the railway to get there, was actually not so legal ;P After a half hour of searching we found the track down to the spot. At the end all the time and risk was worth it!!! An awesome, amazing, remarkable and breathtaking view WOW!!!

A natural swimming pool was there, so special to stand on top of the falls, have a stunning view and you can jump approximately 9 meters into the pool :D The climb back up was a bit risky ;)

This was definitely one of my favorite spots so far, not touristic, so relaxed and everyone from the lookouts is looking :P
After this awesome day I had a relaxed evening watching Lord of the Rings with Matthias and Martin, who I met in Airlie. Because next day I went on a boat for snorkeling and diving at the Great Barrier Reef! It is very special if you walk around at sunset time, because there are so many bats flying. You not use to it in Europe and they are hugh...

Next day started with rain :/ Not the best conditions to dive...
The Boat was nice, good spot to relax and see the reef, the food was good too ;)

The dives and snorkeling was nice, to see the reef and fishes. Lean back and enjoy, hopefully you find everything ;)

At the evening we wanted to go in a club to catch up with the guys from the Boat and the crew, but we were to late and didn't want to pay the entrance price, so we end up in Gilligan's again ;) Lucky I met some girls from the day before because the others went early in bed. This night was a wet T-shirt contest at Gilligan's... It is surprise what women especially backpacker doing to get some money...
Last day in Cairns I did my laundry and organized some stuff. I had to use the first time needle and thread, I had to fix my shirt...

I know it doesn't look perfect but it should work if I needed it.

Julian and Leven, we met them at Airlie also arrived at Gilligan's. Because they have a camper van we could have our pre drinks in it.

In Australia you aren't allowed to drink in public and in the most Hostels it is also prohibited...

Now my time at the east coast is over, that was fast... I saw so many different and amazing spots. The people I met are awesome and we had a lot of fun! I did some stuff I didn't expect I would do it ever. WOW I loved it there, but it is different than traveling due southeastern Asia. Mainly Asia is cheaper, the Hostels are smaller and you are more flexible, you don't have to book your stuff weeks in advance.
Let's see how the outback is! Next stop Alice Springs and a 6 days tour down to Adelaide!
