Down Under

After the break here my start in Australia:

Finally I got to Sydney! Thanks to my brother I had a lot of information about Sydney and especially how to safe money. First day I got all stuff prepared for the 2 1/2 month in Australia, like sim card, cheap stores, get the stuff for cooking and how to live here ;) The Hostel I selected wasn't the best one, but it worked. In the evening I started my first Tour to the harbour. Of course I walked to The Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. I also got a great spot for sunset.

Second day I walked with Lenard nearly 30 km to Bondi Beach and back.

We walked due some nice areas with beautiful houses.

We found some really nice parks on the way to Bondi.

The we arrived on Bondi, WOW so awesome it is a really nice beach!

Because we are men we had to discover and needed a challenge, so we got to the north part of the beach to walk and hike the cliffs.

We found a pretty amazing spot to have a short break ;)

On our way back we found a nice castle and boats.

Next day new person ;) I walked around with Nico. Weather changed to cloudy and a bit of rain.

But first I had to go to Peterpans, which is a travel agency, to plan my trip up north to cairns. If everything works out I'm going to meet Bernd again and have some awesome tours. After this we walked to Hyde Park, St Mary's Cathedral and the Botanic Garden, it has a nice view to the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. We also saw the military harbour.

Next day new person? Yeah, oh no I had to travel alone, because I went to the north of Sydney and the others wanted to safe their money. It was still cloudy and a bit of rain, but it is warm so I could wear shorts and flip-flops :D

First point on my list for this day was, walk on the Harbour Bridge and see what is on the other side.

Then I got on a ferry to see Sydney form the water.

I saw a lot of Sydney already, so next activity was go north with the ferry to Manly. It is really beautiful there.

The main reason I wanted to go up there was the North Head Sanctuary including the National Park. You can walk a loop to saw a lot, with some nice lookouts. It was awesome only the weather wasn't that good -.-

They also included a memorial walk for all their soldiers.

Last full day in Sydney I went to the Blue Mountains. The weather was nice, so I could start with the tour. I went to the Three Sisters and I did the walk around them. It is about 900 steps down into the valley and later up again. To get back to the Echo Point (perfect view to the Thread Sisters) I also did a part of the Prince Henry Cliff Walk. It was so amazing, a nice view, trekking and plenty of stuff to see.

I wanted to get to another part of the Blue Mountains to do the Grand Canyon Walk, but I have really no luck with the weather in Sydney... It starts raining and it turns into a thunderstorm :(
I had to drive back to my hostel :/

A group of 6 people arrived in my room. They studied together in New Zealand. Really nice people, played some drinking games and maybe have an accommodation in New Zealand ;)

Now it is time to go up north to get better weather ;) Saturday only relaxed and get my stuff together for the next stop. I took the night bus to Baryon Bay. But I definitely had to go first to Chinatown to get my next reminder bracelet, PEACE was the right decision!

Byron Bay is really a hippie town, everything is easy and relaxed. Weather is better, but not good ;) It is again beach time :D

I used the few nice moments to go to the beach with two Germans.

I got up to the lighthouse and walked to the most easterly point in Australia.

I had a visitor by my lunch ;)

One evening we wanted to walk to the beach, but than we heard music from the corner nearby. Wow it was amazing music and lots of people dancing on the corner in front of a bank. The police arrived and the whole crowd was booing, but the police only complaint that the people should went of the street, WOW really special!!!

Last day I booked a tour to Nimbin which is a small tiny hippie village. Really special to find something like this in Australia.

We had a really nice bus, driver and group. The lunch was awesome some beef and sausages, tasty :D

The birds around attacked us to steal the sausages :D
We also went to a waterfall, it was a little bit high ;)

On the way back to Byron Bay an emergency break, everyone was looking around what happened... A Koala was crossing the street :D I saw my first Koala amazing ;)

Next day the weather changed how it should be! That means beach time before I had to get my bus to Brisbane.

Byron Bay is over and I will meet Bernd again for a few days :D 4 different countries but always I meet him ;P

Cheers Steffen
