Steffen discovers the World: Trip to Singapore

After I heard the flight got cancelled I looked for an other option to get to Singapore and catch my flight to Sydney. I stayed one more night on Bali and left my hostel to get to Surabaya on Java to fly from there. After I figured out my options and got on a bus for 12 hours... But I survived a 39 hour journey to Bulgaria before, so that's easy -.- ;) The only I didn't had was my ticket to Singapore... I called them on Wednesday and Thursday 15 times until they agreed to give me a voucher for the flight. On Friday I had the voucher, Yeah! But I can't use it for my booking :/ I had to call with jetstar again 15 times until I really had my flight... Because I was in the bus the others wasn't amused. But I got my flight, so I didn't care. It was a typical southeastern Asia bus drive, driver is crazy, roads are bad and not enough space.

I have met two guys from New Zealand in the bus to Surabaya. They also needed a different way to continue their plans because of the vulcano. Our day in Surabaya began with a visit in the zoo. We saw a lots of awesome animals, some of them I already know.

In the Zoo a really strange situation started. We were the only white people, so they asked us if we could make some pictures with them. This is not so special in some areas in southeastern Asia. But in this city everyone started to look at us, it doesn't matter what they did. Also everyone said: "Hey Mister". A really strange feeling! We only saw two other, not local people in the city the whole day. After all these strange situations and the lots of walking, we searched 2 hours until we got our beer. We had to go in a good restaurant, we were a little underdressed ;D

My last action in Surabaya was to get back to the hostel, get me and my stuff to the airport! I was glad not to drive... They are so crazy and thousands of scooters everywhere!!!

I arrived in Singapore at 7. November 11:45pm and I got picked up by my friend! I could stay in his room in a 4 star hotel, nice!!! Next day I got an awesome breakfast with everything you can wish. Then we had enough energy for a one day all in one trip ;P We walked over 30km! The spots we saw:
