David a friend from a friend from Juan welcomed me in Leticia. I stayed at his brand-new hostel. Leticia is in the middle of the rainforest and the most southern point in Colombia. Brazil and Peru are nearby, short way to the different countries. First evening I went to the main square to watch the birds. All of them flying there for the night. It is really crowed, noise and a fun to watch.
My plan was to stay for two nights and the drive with the Boat to Iquitos in Peru, but my plan changed. I decided to stay on more night so I can do a day trip on different Islands and can see the semi final Bayern against Atletico. Sadly I had to change plans again... Nobody except of me booked the tour on this day, so they had to change it to the next day, no Champions League :(
To start the day we went to the market, where you probably can find everything to eat what you get in Leticia ;)
For the boot trip you have to get the stamp out of Colombia and the other one into Peru. I organised everything on Tuesday. Official I was since then in Peru, but slept two more nights in Colombia.
Because Brazil is just a 20 min walk away from the hostel I did a short visit to the last country of my journey.
The day was really relaxed and not so spectacular.
Next day was the day of the Tour we visited a few Islands and saw amazing animals. First stop you actually could hold them. I wasn't sure how good they treat them, so I didn't hold any.
Next few Islands were with nice buildings and some locals.

I managed to watch the first 30min of the game, no good result :/
Last Highlight was watching of pink dolphins, not bright pink but you could see the color.

It is difficult to see the dolphin, give it a try ;) |
On the way back the weather changed into a storm.
We had to make a stop and wait until it was more secure to drive. We got back in one piece and nothing happened. But another boot from the company capsized, everyone was OK but they were back really late.
After this nice day I had to pack my stuff and leave the hostel at 2:45am to get on the boat to Iquitos.
That was also a interesting journey... We lost the top, the engine failed for 45min and we had to buy fuel by a slow boat. This extend the journey 3 hours to 15.

And again nothing happened and I arrived late, but fine in Iquitos. It was a interesting journey and also cold, still I liked it. It is the way how the locals travel and if I want to know the country it belongs to it.

In Iquitos we went to the famous market, which is a bit dangerous, but not for 3 people ;)
We also went on a local boot to see the poor areas. That was maybe not the most safety decision on the trip... But lucky a police officer saw us and joint the trip, so we had our on bodyguard :D
