In the afternoon I went to the only place I known before, the Panama Canal ;) It is expensive to enter the building, at least you can see a museum, a 3D movie and have from the balcony a nice view.
Because beer is cheap again we drunk a couple and I decided what to do next.
I went with Wes at the next day to Boquete to hike up to the vulcano Baru, which is the highest moutain in Panama with 3474m and you can see both oceans. We heard the sunrises should be awesome. We started at 10 and arrived at 8:30pm. Start of the hike is around 11:30pm. First we had to find a hostel, get supplies, get bus place to the begin of the hike, eat something and take a shower. We were ready with all of this a half hour before the start. We started as a group of 7 persons.
We lost a couple on the way. Two swiss guys stayed on the bottom for around 1.5h so they hadn't to freeze on thr top to long. The distance of the hike is almost 14km oneway. After 1.5km Wes sadly has to turn around and went back. We hiked as a group of 4 persons until we got to 8km, the next couldn't continue. He was so tired that he had to sleep at the side of the street.
One km later the Swiss guys met up again. On the last part of the trail we sadly lost Konstanze. The others were up earlier then I was, so the made a small fire to kepp them warm. Then it was time to enjoy the amazing view with a stunning sunrise. Of course I took a lot of photos or let Selina take some of me :D
After an hour on the summit we had to go back down ... This was the really tough part. The Trail is quite steep, hard to walk and not so nice.
Fast we came to a point we just wanted to be finished, but is was still 9km left -.- At the end we hiked 12 hours, we couldn't move our feed anymore and were ready to sleep. I first had to find Wes and we had to change out hostel. We got to the hostel from the girls. The highlight of the day was cooking ;)
Wes, Selina and I continued our trip to Bocas del Toro. They are some beautiful Islands in the west of Panama.
Wes already booked an accommodation, so we split. After the long journey we decided to jump in the Ocean.
Next day a couple of people from the hostel went to an Island Cruise, we joined ;)
We stopped a several places. We saw a sloth and starfish.
Of course snorkeling is always a good and nice opportunity to see the underwater world all over the world.
We drove to Zapatilla 2 a small and really nice Island. Only a few people there no one lives on the island, perfect to relax ;)
Finally we drove to the Blue Coconut, which is a bar over the Water with hammocks and nice places to relax. Our captain also had a tube with him, looks so much fun ;) Sadly the rope broke, I didn't got a run...
Next day the weather was bad. I went into the city to see at least a bit.
We could cross the fence to the airport and the football field is close ;)
Bovas is known for their parties we went to one ;)
Last day at bocas we spent at the bluff Beach.
I moved back to Panama City with Anne, a German girl I met on Bocas. We arrived at 5am, so it was sunrise time again :D
At the up coming day we went with Daniek go some Islands close by. It was really wirred because everything opens so late, something at 1pm.
We finished themday at the Trump tower with an awesome view!
Afterwards we got quite a contrast, we went to a local Street food place ;)
Party on the otherside of the skyline ;)
At my last day in Panama City I went to the fish market, it was delicious!
The hostel is at Vaso Viejo the old part of the city real nice :)
I'm going to leave Panama with a 5 days sailing trip to Colombia!
It was awesome in Panamami did more than I expected. The people and backpacker are great it is really a nice place to go! Thanks to everyone how made it so special for me :)
