Last days in Australia

The last few weeks I actually relaxed and did not so much after 3 1/2 months of always continued travelling.
I stayed in Perth for a week. I had to plan a few things for New Zealand and America. I met nice people with whom I relaxed, went to the beach and waterfalls.

At least a nice view

The girls cooked us an awesome meal, "Kaesespaetzle" typical German :D

First and last stop are the same, Sydney :) I stayed 5 nights at the blue mountains by awesome friends form Bangkok.

Thanks guys :)

Three sisters again

At my departure day Nico surprised me at the blue mountains. I met him at my first week in Australia.
Shit weather, you couldn't see the Three Sisters

Everyone recommended me the coastal walk from Bondi to Coogee, because I wanted to swing my clubs again I did it the other way.

Bondi Beach
After this long walk I played 9 holes at the Bondi Golf Club. It is really different compared to others, I could play in shorts and  a T-shirt. The course is small 8 par 3 and only one par 4, which only hast 277 meters. You play at the cliffs with a nice view and always wind. This makes the course nice, but not easy. After all it is nice to play when you are on a trip, but definitely not the best course on earth ;)

Last day in Australia was Australia Day! First I drove to Cronulla Beach to visit Faith and Broke, who I met at the east coast.

To afterwards I went into the city to enjoy Australia Day.

I was a bit to late to get to the Darling harbour on time for the firework.

Now it is time to say goodbye to Australia after 2 1/2 months. It is a huge, beautiful, unique and special country. I had a really nice time here and had the luck to see a loads of different places, the east coast, the outback and the west coast. The spots are so different, the east coast with all the backpackers, touristic places and the parties. Compared the west coast and outback is quite, it is more the real Australia I would say, the really special feeling you only can get here! In the end everything belongs to Australia and makes it so special and nice.
I met a lots of Germans :D, but my brother prepared me for this :) Thankfully in Australia are also a few of other nations in the country. I'm happy and thankful to met all of them, some longer and some a few times, but everyone made my journey in Australia as special at it was!
I will always remember Australia as a remarkable country which is expensive. It is awesome, but if you only had a bit time of traveling I would recommend to go to Southeastern Asia. Because you don't have to book everything in advance, so you are more flexible and spontaneously. Of course it is cheaper, not so touristic and not some many Germans around ;P The most important point for me is you have a bigger challenge to travel around and communicate.

Nevertheless it was great and thanks for the amazing and unique time in Australia!

Cheers

3500 km in 7 days

Wow what a tour! The west coast is definitly different then the east coast as my brother already told me :) There is not so munch tourism, so you have amazing beaches and spots for you own :D The group was really good, some only on short vacation, others on a long travel as I and Mutti our 60 years old German woman. It was and good mix of young and old ;)

We drove in 7 days approximately 3500km this was a lot! I'm really happy to survived it ;PP

Day 1:
First stop of our journey were the Pinnacles. They are rocks who standing around. It exist two different theories, how they build both are plausible. It looks really nice and special, because it looks like someone placed them there.

The two theories how the Pinnacles were build.
Because of this picture I go for the first one

Pinnacles, white sand and oceann

For lunch we stopped at Hangover Bay a really quite an relaxed bay, except of the wind ;)

Last attraction was the leaning tree. Actually there is more the one, but this one is one of the nicest. They look how they look because of the constant wind from the Sam direction.

We slept on a horse range in Kalberri.

Day 2:
Next day we went to the Kalberri National Park. I did abseiling, was a lot of fun :D

The landscape was build by the river over thousands of years, amazing ;)

We got down here :D

The marks are form big scorpions millions of years ago
Natural window
Cliff hanging

After these experiences we continued to shark Bay, it is a world heritage. It is stunning, in one Bay so many nice and unique places! We went first to Hamlin Pool, where Stromatolites are growing. Stromatolites are the oldest organisms on the earth, they have build the atmosphere we live in now.

Last stop was Monkey Mia. Wild dolphins get there food every day 2 or 3 times. This is only 10% of there day food, because they should still act in the natural behavior.

We stayed in a Resort at Monkey Mia over night.

Day 3:
We get up at 5 to see the sunrise. It was definitely worth it!!! The sunrise wasn't so special, but when we are waiting dolphins come along. So special only a few people and dolphins ;D Our personal dolphin time ;) They come really close, awesome!

Of course we also went to the official dolphin feeding, so crowded!

On our drive to Coral Bay we stopped at several nice spots at Shark Bay.

Little lagoon
Eagle bluff
Sharks at eagle bluff :D

Sometimes we had to drive these dirty roads
Lying on the street

Shell Beach
Me a lone in the ocean ;)
We got hit by a truck train :P

We arrived in the dark at Coral Bay, so nothing special happened.

Day 4:
At Coral Bay we got on a Eco Tour to snorkel with Manta Rays, they can grow up to 4 meters. This was an awesome and amazing tour definitely worth the extra money. Now lean back and enjoy the pictures and videos from the 3 snorkels :)
Enjoy the pictures and hopefully you see everything ;)

It was sometimes really shallow

After this remarkable Boat trip we drove up to Exmouth. We stayed there for two nights.

Day 5:
We get to two snorkeling sides, one was so close we walked into the water and there was the reef, amazing!

We drove to the Lighthouse nearby for sunset, WOW!

Day 6:
After these 5 incredible days four left the group to fly back to Perth, because if different reasons. This day was one of the toughest days. We drove over 850km.
After this long drive we got to Kalberri again and saw our last sunset.

Day 7:
Finally we drove back to Perth and stopped at some nice places and also had some fun by sandboarding ;D

Pink lake ;)

Former prison

Wildlife park

Short video compilation form all the snorkel trips we did:

After this awesome experience, unique spots and people, I'm back in Perth and it is definitly time to relax and get prepared to leave Australia to New Zealand. Before leaving I'm going to fly to Sydney for a couple of days. I hopefully can catch up with some friends I made due my trip and celebrate a great Australia Day at the 26.1. before I'm leaving at the next day. ;)

Cheers Steffen
